Ultra/WMC

Well looks like Miami has hosted once again the greatest electronic music festival/week that exists. Unfortunately, I (lev) was not present, but bb was there in full form. From what I saw through the live feed, heard from fellow enthusiasts, and assume just by conventional knowledge it is more evident than ever that EDM is taking over. Wherever you look or listen, EDM is present. For god sakes, the queen of pop Madonna was on stage with Avicii asking people about “Molly”. Generation Y may need to be renamed. After taking a look at the sets from Ultra, I couldn’t come to any sort of conclusion as to what to post. There is just so much good shit out there right now. Personally, in 2012 I think we’ve come to see harder drops, more electro, and a hell of a lot more in your face productions. So here are a couple that have been dominating my playlists over the past week. Hate to post Tim (for those of you that complain of “selling out” and “branding”), but give the man credit. Cheers.

[...] Since Avicii has put out “Levels” and started touring non-stop around the globe to support his rising status in the EDM world (and the music industry in general), he has provided us with little in regards to to new releases, aside from a few collaborations with Guetta (“Sunshine”) and Nicky Romero (“Nicktim/ Fuck School”), but that’s all about to change.  It seems that based on what he played at Ultra Music Festival over the weekend that the young Swede has been saving up a few heat rocks that he more than likely will unleash very soon; this track right here being one of them. If you watched/ listened to his set from Ultra you might recognize it; it’s song number 7 (starts at about the 29:00 mark).  Amazing track in my opinion; catchy melody, very easy to absorb and certainly evokes the “hands in the air” type of feeling. props – CB [...]
