Kaskade – America’s Best DJ Delivers “Fire & Ice” – One of the Best Albums of 2011

Kaskade – what a year/MONTH this man has been having.  He was recently crowned the America’s Best DJ title October 9th, at Marquee Nightclub in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, was ranked 30th on DJ Mag’s prestigious Top 100 DJs, and today, October 24th, he put out his much anticipated release “Fire & Ice”.

The award ceremony for America’s Best DJ, held in The Library at Marquee, and the following party—with Kaskade and Scotty Boy (featuring a surprise appearance from LMFAO) on the decks—culminated DJ Times magazine’s three-month-long promotion, which included a 24-date America’s Best DJ Summer Tour Presented by Pioneer DJ. Marquee DJs Erick Morillo  and EDX were also in the club for the celebration.  What a show Kaskade put on at Marquee.  This not only signifies a new precedence for DJs in America, but starts off a long awaited residency for the mega-DJ at Marquee Las Vegas.  The man, the myth is set to perform an unbelievable show at the super club, Marquee, on Halloween night.  For more information go to MarqueeLasVegas.com.

How much better can it get for Kaskade?  He recently completed touring on the amazing Identity Festival, headlined festivals such as Nocturnal Wonderland, established a new residency at one of the best clubs in the world, was ranked 30th best DJ in the world, and today is releasing one of the most exciting dance albums of the year.  I’ve been waiting all year for the this album to be released.  Kaskade’s melodic and epic music is unmatched by any other DJ.  His beautiful and euphoric sound is something EDM fans like me can’t get enough of.  Nothing stirred my excitement more last week than watching this album preview below and hearing Kaskade bring us from track to track…

It’s unbelievable to see Kaskade cross genres to work with these vocalists. Skylar Grey, among others, is a singer/songwriter who I have been desperately awaiting to get into the EDM game. Her voice is impeccable, so it’s great to see a producer like Kaskade grab her and place her on a melody that accentuates her vocal ability. Other artists that I was very excited to hear were working with Kaskade were Neon Trees, Dada Life, and Skrillex – who together with Kaskade delivered one of the most interesting and forward-moving tracks in all of EDM this year. In addition, it’s really great to see that Kaskade is re-exploring his old sound and also more progressive sounds with his “ICE” section of the album.

I’m extremely excited for this album, Kaskade, Marquee, and everyone who was involved with his development this year. Go out and buy this album, A PHYSICAL COPY, listen for days, and appreciate artistry. Hardly do you ever see EDM artists putting out full length albums. Appreciate what Kaskade has done here.
