Before you say a word.. we get it. Yesss, “Strobe” is one of the best house/progressive/trance tracks ever created and cannot be recreated. Well in this remix/rework, Special Features doesn’t attempt to recreate, he takes the recognizable components of this masterpiece and adds his own twist to make a remix that’s upbeat, powerful, enhanced, and current. What an unbelievable job this 20-year-old producer from London does – we couldn’t be more excited for him. Special Features does something here that many producers are simply afraid to do, take a risk. I think it was completely worth it because he turned “Strobe” into a certified banger while using all the characteristics of a Special Features track – melodic and powerful builds with new-school electro drops. He adds beautiful piano-rolls to the recognizable Deadmau5 synth and restructures the track to make it perfect for your crates. He very successfully revamped this song to make it sound more current and essentially made “Strobe” fun.
Special Features has been on an absolutely tear as of lately with remixes of Avicii & Guetta’s “Sunshine” and Calvin Harris’s “Feel So Close”, which both hit the top of the charts on the Hype Machine.
